I got the call. Finally. I'm off to Columbus, OH.
After days of trading phone calls and e-mails all weekend, I received a call from the Deputy Director of Out-of-State Volunteers to notify me of my deployment.
When could I start? Immediately. I'll be on a plane tomorrow.
Do I have a place to live? Nope. Not a problem -- they can set me up at a volunteer's house.
Do I have a car? Nope. Not a problem -- unlike NY or DC, it's only $17/day to rent a car in Ohio.
So, time to pack, buy a plane ticket, and set up a rental car... in the next couple of hours. I still have no idea what I'll be doing when I get there. 13 days til Election Day. Booyah.
