Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

To anticipate the publication of my 101 List (stay tuned for that, it's gonna be awesome), I've decided to try to tackle a major item:

Try Out for a Game Show

Well, I submitted an application a couple of days ago to the hit show, "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?", and sure enough, today I got an email from the show telling me that I've qualified for an audition. This by no means guarantees that I'll be on the show. Not even close.

What this does mean is that sometime in June I'll be visiting their offices for a written test and an interview. That is the audition. Should I pass their tests, then I'm "on call".

To actually get on TV and play (come on, best Regis voice you've got:) "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?!", the following needs to happen, in this order:

  • I need to pass my audition
  • They need to call me
  • I need to be available for the day they specify
  • I cannot be hit (hard) by a car on the way to the studio, thus incapacitating me or disfiguring me into something too ugly for TV
  • They need to select me for the group of contestants
  • I need to play "Fastest Finger"
  • I need to win "Fastest Finger"
  • I need to stay conscious long enough to walk to "The Hot Seat"
  • I need to stay conscious while in "The Hot Seat"
  • I need to NOT vomit on Regis because I'm so excited
So, pending completion of this list, and assuming no acts of God hit Manhattan a la The Day After Tomorrow until after this is all over, we'll see what happens. I can't get too crazy yet.

But I'm gonna do this. And yes, that's my final answer.
